Dr. Antje Johanning
As part of her activities as cultural manager at Dom Gerharta Hauptmanna, Dr. Antje Johanning directed the local Center for Meeting, Exchange and Research. In addition to the house’s events program she also had the opportunity to bring to fruition various exhibition projects with her colleague Dagmara Sosnowska and her successor Hans-Joachim Hahn.

Background
After studying German philology and art history at the Heinrich Heine University of Düsseldorf Antje Johanning worked as research assistant on the project "Jahrtausendfeiern und Befreiungsfeiern im Rheinland" ("Millennium Celebration and Freedom Celebration in the Rhineland”) and at the Max-Herrmann-Neisse-Institute. In her dissertation she focused on theater pieces by Elfriede Jelinek.
Current
Since 2006 Antje Johanning has been a DAAD instructor for German literature at the Vytauto Didziojo Universitetas/Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas. In addition she has been working together with Heike Liesegang on the project "Locations and contemporaries of Gerhart Hauptmann”, a data bank supported edition of Margarete Hauptmann’s journals and their preparation as multimedia lexicon.
