Cultural policy framework

Through the program “Robert Bosch Cultural Managers in Central and Eastern Europe” the Robert Bosch Stiftung is contributing to the network of German foreign cultural policies. By providing funding to local initiatives outside of the main cities, it establishes sustainable structures that foster cultural relations between Germany and its neighbors in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe. By doing so, the program contributes in an important way to international understanding in Europe as it grows together.

The cultural managers are part of the German Embassies’ commitment to coordinating German foreign cultural policy activities abroad. By participating in the program fellows and host organizations enter into a tight network that includes other actors in foreign cultural and educational policy such as the Goethe-Institut and the Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen.

The foundation also maintains close ties to the program’s former fellows. Along with the alumni of the “Cultural Managers from Central and Eastern Europe” program, they constitute a network of experts for international exchange that spans all of Europe.
