Cultural management
Key skills for cultural management are taught in cooperation with the Institute for Cultural Management of the Ludwigsburg University of Education: project management, financing culture, cultural policy, marketing culture, press and public relations, basics of business/accounting and controlling. Every fellowship year three cultural management modules are conducted during the seminars and one module is carried out as a directed study. Further modules may be taken in Ludwigsburg in order to receive a certificate from the Institute for Cultural Management at the end of the course of study.
Cultural competence
Seminar units and discussion rounds give the fellows an overview of the German-speaking cultural landscape and insight into current debates in German cultural policy both within the country and abroad. The seminars incorporate visits to various host organizations, which allows the participants to get to know the cultural organizations and networks in many countries in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe.
Personal management skills
The fellows are taught valuable leadership skills through training modules in the areas of communication, conflict management, leadership, strategizing and organizational development (two modules per year). The seminars are conducted by experienced trainers and build upon topics covered in the previous year.
Assistance with entering the workforce
Training sessions that cover job applications as well as targeted counseling assist fellows as they return to Germany and seek employment in German or international cultural organizations.
