The program series "WM > 08: Please, don't wash separately!" was designed to present, in Germany, the diversity and the potential of the very lively young art scene in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

Not unlike the jumble of a washing machine, experimental films, art projects, multimedia performances, and musical live acts from Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Slovakia, Russia, and Poland were all presented together in several German cities. The WM08 series saw itself not only as a presentation framework for these projects, but also as a platform for German and Central and Eastern European artists and cultural actors to meet and exchange.

After the successful opening in February and the second event in March, the third event, an international rock concert, was held in Halle. Performers included Veyun (D), diriжablь (RU), and cool gardens (LT). This was the result of a rock band exchange project that Elena Gladkova designed and implemented in cooperation with the Werkleitz Gesellschaft - Center for Media Art. A few weeks before the concert, the three rock bands from Germany, Russia, and Lithuania exchanged original scores with each other, wrote new lyrics to the respective scores in their native languages or in English, and prepared a colorful, diverse repertoire for a live concert. The new international songs were first presented to audiences for the first time in Halle.
