Per.Art, Novi Sad, Serbia

Per.Art was founded in 1999 by a group of creative artists and was legally registered as a non-profit NGO in 2005. Per.Art deals with the production, education and promotion of performing arts, critically reflecting both - the social and cultural context of the transitional Serbian society - with initiating and encouraging interdisciplinary cooperative endeavors. Exchanging knowledge and expertise with other regional and European initiatives and allowing for a more critical view of societal realities are important aspects of the work Per.Art is doing. The projects can be divided into four program areas: 1. contemporary dance, 2. integrating people with learning disabilities through art, 3. the city as a stage: interdisciplinary projects with a critical link to the transformative processes of the urban and public spheres, 4. regional cooperation between artists.
