Ludwig Henne

Cultural Manager at the „NGO Košice 2013 – European Capital of Culture“ in Košice, Slovakia, 2010-2012

Ludwig Henne developed an artist-in-residency program in Eastern Slovakia within the context of the European Capital of Culture. K.A.I.R. Košice Artist in Residence invites international artists to Košice for several months and sends regional artists to residencies in Western and Eastern Europe as well as Japan.

Background

Studied cultural studies and communication and media studies at the Universität Leipzig. Since 2000, he has worked as a board member in various local and international cultural associations such as the Leipziger Hörspielsommer, the Kunstverein Leipzig, and the artist in residence program “blumen.” Work and study in England, Tanzania, and China. From 2007 to 2009, two years of work at the Universität Leipzig, where he developed and implemented a fund-raising strategy for the university’s 600-year anniversary.

Current

Freelance cultural manager since 2012, with a focus on Central and Eastern Europe. His projects include work for the Robert Bosch Stiftung, for Košice 2013 – European Capital of Culture, and as a gallerist for the Leipzig gallery b2. Together with Bernd Böttcher he is alumni representative of the program "Robert Bosch Cultural Managers in Central- and Eastern Europe".
