Johanna Holst

From 2005 to 2008 Johanna Holst directed the German Cultural Center in Timisoara, a multi-use facility with a library, language department and program department. She conceptualized the multipurpose annual cultural program of the facility and brought to fruition numerous projects for contemporary art geared toward a young audience.

Johanna Holst studied Roman philology and sociology at the Universities of Mainz and Dijon, as part of the integrated German-French graduate study program. From 2003 to 2005 she was Project Coordinator, then Program Consultant at the Dijon office of the University of Mainz,  and has had much experience in practical cultural and project work at the Goethe Institute in Buenos Aires, the theater festival Theater of the World 2002 and at Hebbel am Ufer, Berlin. From 2004 to 2005 she followed a basic course in the Polish language and culture at the Polonicum in Mainz. In parallel with her activities in Timisoara she completed the refresher course at the Institute for Cultural Management in Ludwigsburg in 2008.
