Bernd Böttcher
Bernd Böttcher directed the Cultural Department of the Bukovina Center at the Yuriy-Fedkovych-University in Chernivtsi from 2005 to 2008. He enlargened the conceptual framework of the Center’s program and organized numerous cultural events such as exhibitions, concerts, international meetings as well as educational projects.

Inspired during a one-year voluntary service abroad in Krzyżowa/Kreisau (Poland) for Central and Eastern Europe, Bernd Böttcher began in 1998 to study Cultural Studies at the European University Viadrina with a focus on Eastern European History and Literature. In 2000-2001 he spent two semesters abroad at the University of Warsaw. After completing his studies he was employed as an editing assistant at Ch. Links Publishing in Berlin from 2004-2005 and then worked at Herder Publishing in Freiburg in Breisgau.
In 2001 he co-founded the German-Polish volunteer network Horizont e.V. and was treasurer of this association for more than three years. Since 2003 Bernd Böttcher has been member of the board of the Kreisau-Initiative Berlin e.V. and active in the Freya von Moltke Foundation for the New Kreisau.
Current
At the end of his activities as Robert Bosch Cultural Manager Bernd Böttcher contributed to the research project "Our Crimea. When History becomes a Weapon" at the Robert Bosch Stiftung Center for Central and Eastern Europe at the German Council on Foreign Relations. From April to October 2009 he served as Director for the Federal Office of West-East Initiative in BDKJ.
Since November 2010 he leads as Managing Director of the Structural Subdivision of the German-Polish-Ukrainian Society in Ukraine the project Center "Our Kids" in Kiev. This non-governmental organization provides children in need with a new home and promotes the exchange between the EU and Ukraine in the field of children and youth aid.
