Lysann Schönherr

Lysann Schönherr directed the regional education center which is responsible for the training of Slovakian German instructors in Central Slovakia. She established training groups in small Slovakian cities where she organized German language trainings as well as trainings in didactics and geography for teachers. In addition cultural events in the area of German literature, film and theater were organized. Lysann Schönherr was responsible for the advancement of regional training centers which were taken over by a local specialist afterwards.

Background
During her study of German at the TU Dresden Lysann Schönherr worked also at different institutions as a freelance teacher for German as a foreign language. When she was studying abroad in the Ukraine and the Czech Republic for several month she discovered her interest in central- and eastern European countries. After finishing her studies she worked in Prague at the German Embassy, taught German at the Goethe-Institut’s youth courses and German, geography and didactics for one year at the Masaryk University in Brno. She began her activities at the Regional Training Center in August 2006.
Current
Lysann Schönherr works on the Pedagogic Faculty in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic as a German and geography lecturer. In addition, she is studying at the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg in Training Management Studies (MBA) in a distance learning program.
