Judith Stumptner

Cultural Manager at the Bukowina Zentrum/Zentrum Gedankendach in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, 2008-2010

From August 2008 to July 2010, Judith Stumptner worked in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. In collaboration with local and international partners, she organized a diverse cultural program with artists and cultural workers from German-speaking regions. With the opening of a new cultural center in the fall of 2009 and its establishment in the city and with partners, she created long-lasting structures for the promotion of German art and culture in Chernivtsi.

Background  

Judith Stumptner studied theater and media studies, book sciences, and journalism at the Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. In 2005/2006, she spent a year at the Jagiellonen University in Krakow, Poland. As a student, she gained a variety of experiences related to theater, literature, new media, and festivals. Internships at the Auswärtiges Amt and at the Goethe-Institut piqued her interested in international cultural work across borders. After her fellowship as a Robert Bosch Cultural Manager in 2010, she worked as a project manager at the Leipziger Buchmesse, where she was responsible for the international field, among other things.

Current

Since November 2011, she has been the director of studies for the “Kunst, Kultur, Bildungspolitik und Pädagogik” department at the Evangelische Akademie Tutzing.
