Fabien Stephan

Cultural Manager at the German Cultural Center in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, 2008-2010

From 2008 to 2010 Fabien Stephan was head of the Cluj German Cultural Center, a threefold institution comprising a library, a language department and a cultural program department. He planned the interdivisional annual activities of the center and realized numerous projects related to contemporary culture addressing a young target audience.

Background

Fabien Stephan studied political sciences at Tübingen University, at the Paris Institut d´Études Politiques and at Freie Universität Berlin. After graduation he gained practical experience as a freelancer for cultural and other projects, working with the Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt Foundation, the video art festival Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin, the broadcasting station Sender Freies Berlin for the Prix Europa competition and at the DAAD branch office in Paris. Since 2004 he collaborated with MitOst e.V., with the cultural center “Schlesische 27” and the JugendTheaterWerkstatt Spandau based in Berlin. From 2006 to 2007 Fabien Stephan was project manager with the German-French Youth Association. On behalf of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs he realized the project „Entdeckungstag“ and on behalf of the Federal Chancellery he organized the European Youth Meeting concluding the German EU Council Presidency. Since 2007 he worked as a cultural manager for the ifa Institute of Foreign Affairs at the Democratic Forum of Germans in Brasov, Romania.

Current

Since April 2011 he is assistant of the executive of the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) in Bonn.
